Event Summary:
U.S. companies interested in selling their marine products and services in China should consider exhibiting in Marintec China 2013. This important trade fair and conference serves not only as a bridge linking the Chinese and international maritime communities, but also provides an excellent opportunity for U.S. exhibitors and visitors to learn more about China's shipbuilding and maritime related communities. After more than 30 years of growth, Marintec China 2013 is the definitive maritime conference and exhibition in Asia, attracting leading buyers, manufacturers and suppliers from China, the Asia Pacific region and the world. Marintec China 2011 attracted more than 1,650 exhibiting companies from 31 countries and 50,888 visitors from 87 countries and regions around the world. National and regional groups exhibiting and visiting Marintec China 2011 included Austria, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Marintec China 2013 is sponsored by the highest echelons in the Chinese Government, relevant ministries, universities, and trade associations, as well as marine trade associations worldwide. China has seen rapid development of its marine industry over the past few years, ranking second in the world in shipbuilding deliveries and orders. With more than 3 million sq. kilometers of water territory and 32,000 kilometers of coastline, China boasts more than 1,400 harbors and 210,000 cargo ships. China's Government has placed a strong emphasis on high-tech ships, new ship designs and ocean engineering equipment while embarking on major efforts to increase its shipbuilding capacity. China also is allocating significant resources for port and waterway construction to meet substantial growth in freight volume. Most Chinese ports are expanding capacity, upgrading port facilities and modernizing operations. In high demand are Vessel Traffic Management Information Systems, laser-docking systems, terminal tractors, dredging equipment, and security equipment for the ports and vessels that adhere to the International Ship and Port Security Code (OSPS).
