  • Ministry of Planning published the bidding criteria for the reform and expansion of its headquarter that consider green building practices and oblige the LEED NC Certification Level Silver.

PRESIDENTIAL DECREE 7.746/2012

ØDefine criteria, practices and guidelines to promote the national sustainable development in the federal administration public purchases. (Regulated the Law 8666/93).

ØPurchase goods and contract services and construction activities considering sustainability as one of the main criteria through technical specification during the elaboration of the bidding process.

ØThe bidding criteria must oblige goods with recycle contend, nontoxic, biodegradable, and others sustainable criteria.

ØThe design projects must be developed in order to provide operational and maintenance savings, energy efficiency, water efficiency, technologies and practices that reduce the environmental impact.

ØPossibility in consider certifications as guideline and compliance tool to help the public authority in order to guarantee to the public administration an efficient and low environment impact product, service or project at the end of the bidding process and during the life cycle of the project or goods use.
