Mark Dunn, Asia Regional Manager of USTDA will offer a briefing on USTDA activities throughout Southeast Asia with a focus on Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar. USTDA’s specific interest in these regions span across the following sectors:

  • Energy (Specifically clean energy, renewable energy and gas)
  • Transportation (Specifically aviation and rail)
  • Information & Computer Technology

As to his career background, Mr. Dunn is the Regional Manager for Asia at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), based in Bangkok, Thailand, a position he has held since 2008. There, he is responsible for managing USTDA’s activities in South and Southeast Asia, directing business development efforts, coordinating with relevant Asian and U.S. government agencies, and marketing USTDA services to potential partners throughout Asia. Mr. Dunn previously served as the agency’s Country Manager for China and Mongolia from 2001-2003, designing and implementing a strategy for USTDA’s operations in China, where the Agency had been

prohibited from working since 1989.

After departing USTDA’s China program in 2003, Mr. Dunn entered the private sector and continued working throughout Asia as a consultant, primarily focusing on the transportation sector. During this time, Mr. Dunn split his time between Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; Beijing, China; and Washington, DC.

Mr. Dunn holds a B.A. in International Relations from Carleton College (Northfield,

MN) and an M.A. in International Affairs from American University (Washington, DC),

focusing on Asia at both institutions. He has traveled and lived extensively throughout

Asia as a student, consultant, and government official.

After the briefing we will have a limited number of one-on-one consultations where you will have the opportunity to get specific answers pertaining to your questions, and further discuss opportunities of partnering with USTDA on the various programs they have in the Southeast Asian region.
