May 24-27, 2010 - The U.S. Commercial Service participated in ConnectivityWeek, a three-day long conference on the application of ICT (Information Communication Technology) for energy efficiency and management. Spanning all the major industries and energy consumption areas of commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure, ConnectivityWeek explored how IT can be leveraged towards the new energy paradigm facing the world. With more than 200 speakers, this event encompassed a variety keynote speeches, educational sessions, panel discussions and round-table conversations on the deployment of the "Smart Grid".
On Wednesday, May 26th, Oakland Export Assistance Center Director Rod Hirsch spoke on the Smart & Green Innovation Tsunami panel during the Plenary Session at ConnectivityWeek. Rod talked about the variety of International Opportunities available in the world of Smart Grid.
Approximately one month earlier, the Oakland Export Assistance Center co-organized with Domestic Platinum Key Service client, OSISoft2, a Smart Grid Seminar in which representatives from Clasma were invited to attend. OSISoft was one of ConnectivityWeek's gold sponsors.
