Friday, November 4, 2003 – The Oakland Export Assistance Center in collaboration with California State University in Hayward organized site-visits and one on one meeting for a community connections delegation from Georgia. The U.S. State Department - USAID Community Connections Program brings competitive selected professionals from Eurasia to the United States for internships in local American communities, businesses, and organizations. The goals of this program are to expose participants to a democratic free market society, encourage both the implementation of change in the building in the public-private partnerships in their home countries. Oakland EAC Director Rod Hirsch arranged for a site visits to Jordan Woodman Dobson, a port design firm, a site visit at the Port of Oakland5 as well as Navis LLC.
