
On Sunday, June 5, 2011 the Oakland Export Assistance Center (EAC) co-organized a National Export Initiative (NEI) reception for the US-ASEAN Ambassador Tour.
The event partners were the Port of Oakland and FedEx. The host of the event was R&B Cellars and other members of the Alameda Point Vintners to help promote the wine industry, as well as other sectors. Oakland EAC Director Rod Hirsch worked with the US Department of Commerce Asia Pacific Region management and the US-ASEAN Business Council on the project.
The US-ASEAN Ambassador Tour was comprised of the Honorable David Adelman Ambassador to Singapore, David Carden Ambassador to the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Scot Marciel Ambassador to Indonesia and Daniel Shields Ambassador to Brunei.
The reception attracted over one hundred guests, such as representatives from Chevron, Levi Strauss, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, the Consul General of Indonesia, Consul General of China and the media.
