On January 19, 2012, the Oakland Export Assistance Center completed their six-series workshop on Commerce export controls. These interactive events, in partnership with the Port of Oakland and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), were designed to provide participants with knowledge of export controls and tools to navigate this process and perform due diligence when exporting to markets outside of the United States. Larry Sullivan from BIS was the presenter for the first five workshops and Joe Whitehead from BIS presented at this last workshop on export enforcement. International Trade Specialist Cindy Ma spoke on the export assistance the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) provides to U.S. companies.  Four participants received "Certificates of Completion" for attending all six events.
