International Trade Business Forum - “Where in the World are the Growth Markets!”

On Tuesday May 1, 2012, the Sacramento Export Assistance Center participated in an International Trade Forum hosted by the Small Business Development Center in Chico California. This event was held at the Chico Masonic Family Center from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. It began with an introduction by Jim O’Neal, the Sacramento District Director for the Small Business Administration. Following comments from Mr. O’Neal, the event included presentations by Jerry Avila, Regional Manager for SBA’s Office of International Trade, Jim Lucchesi, Senior Business Manager for the Export-Import Bank of the United States, and Bernie Weiss of the California Center for International Trade Development. Next were presentations by Director George Tastard of the Sacramento US Export Assistant Center and Paul Finn, Business Solutions Specialist for the US Postal Service. Following the presentations, there was a panel discussion and question and answer session with all of the participants. The US Commercial Service was also represented at the event by Senior Trade Specialist Anthony Hill. There were approximately 25 attendees at the event from a variety of local companies and organizations. This was a successful event as the Sacramento USEAC was able to connect with new clients and other local partners.
