Business Symposium on Expanding Into The United States

Join us for a unique symposium on “Business Expansion to the United States” featuring addresses by the United States, Quebec and Canadian governments. This event will focus on programs and resources these governments can offer to Quebec Businesses interested in expanding their business into the United States.

The QC-U.S. cross border trade and investment business relationship is of great importance. In 2011, Quebec-U.S. trade was $75 billion; and the United States is Quebec's largest trading partner, accounting for approximately 75% of the province's international trade. In terms of investment, in 2012 Canadian businesses invested $280 in the United States, and U.S. businesses invested $330 billion in Canada.

This event is going to be for Quebec companies wanting to expand their sales or physical presence into the United States, so it will apply to companies that are new to the US market and those that are already present in the US. The presentations will focus on the government programs, assistance and general outlook on how we are working together to get QC companies to take advantage of the US market.

Special Guest: Mr. Olson is the Executive Director of SelectUSA, President Obama’s Initiative designed to attract foreign direct investment in the U.S. He is co-chair with the White House Director for National Economic Council of the SelectUSA Interagency Investment Working Group to coordinate across the U.S. government to promote business investment and address federal regulatory barriers.
