The Commercial Service in Santo Domingo is happy to support the launch of Caribbean Tourism: The Energy Forum (CTEF), a new annual event focused exclusively on what can be done to lower the electricity bill of Caribbean hotels and resorts.
Against a backdrop of perennially high energy tariffs, CTEF is the first event to gather the market - hoteliers, financiers, ESCOs, utilities and technology providers - to catalyze the financing and execution of world-class renewable energy and energy savings programs for the Caribbean hospitality industry.
CTEF is co-hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Government of the Dominican Republic, and supported by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association. CTEF is organized by New Energy Events, the producers of the annual Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF), the largest energy event in the region. CTEF will take place at the Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from December 10th-11th.
As the region's hotels and resorts grapple with the range of technologies and financing options available to them, CTEF event in December will explore concrete financing and technology case-studies, analyze the vital relationship between hotels and the utilities, and dig down into effective government policy to support the industry. CTEF offers the chance to meet this potentially huge market for world-class RE and energy savings programs.
