Join the U.S. Commercial Service and the Canadian Consulate General, New York for the Canadian Oil Sands Event, January 28, 2013.

The Canadian Oil Sands Event is an opportunity for Connecticut businesses in the areas of Oil and Natural Resource Service sector to explore concrete opportunities for export in support of the ongoing development in the Alberta Oil Sands region. With over $12 billion in active projects, and $55 Billion spent in 2012 as a whole, there exists an incredible opportunity for U.S. exporters in the region. There is an estimated $2 trillion in total projects budgeted over the next 25 years which deal specifically with oil production from the Alberta oil sands area.

Areas of opportunity for businesses looking to export include supplying both services and equipment required in the mining, production, and support of infrastructure. At the Canadian Oil Sands Event, attendees will have the chance to meet with both Canadian energy industry representatives and Canadian and U.S. government representatives to discuss the best way to effectively meet the needs of the industry. In addition, previously identified attendees will be able to meet with Canadian industry counterparts privately, as dictated by the specific requirements of the Canadian industry representatives.
