U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) administers the patent and trademark laws as they relate to the granting of patents for utility inventions, designs and plants and the issuing of trademark registrations. The USPTO examines applications for patents and applications for trademark registration. The USPTO publishes issued patents, approved trademark registrations and various publications concerning patents and trademarks; records assignments of patents and trademarks. It maintains search rooms and a national network of Patent and Trademark Depository Libraries.
U.S. Census Bureau
Department of Commerce Census provides trade data on exports and imports, and information on the Harmonized Tariff System (Schedule B numbers) and the Shippers Export Declaration.
Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)
Formerly Bureau of Export Administration (BXA). BIS's activities include regulating the export of sensitive goods and technologies in an effective and efficient manner; enforcing export control, antiboycott, and public safety laws; cooperating with and assisting other countries on export control and strategic trade issues; assisting U.S. industry to comply with international arms control agreements; monitoring the viability of the U.S. defense industrial base; and promoting federal initiatives and public-private partnerships across industry sectors to protect the nation's critical infrastructures.

Commercial News USA is the official United States Department of Commerce showcase for American-made products and services. The catalog-style magazine is designed to help American companies promote products and services to buyers in more than 145 countries and assist foreign companies finding export ready American products. The magazine, which is free, is mailed directly to qualified recipients and distributed by U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service personnel at U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide. CNUSA is distributed every second month.
