The Government of Thailand recently approved the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to proceed with their projects under the country's mass transit master plan over the next 5 years. The total budget is estimated at nearly $ 8 billon. The MRTA, which is responsible for development of the Thailand's subway projects, will proceed with the extension of Thailand's first subway line (blue line) and development of the purple line. Meanwhile, the SRT, the operator of the nationwide railway, will rehabilitate and expand the rail system. SRT projects include double tracking of key rail routes, enhancing signaling and communication systems, upgrading their maintenance center and sourcing new locomotives. Details of these projects will be presented in an interactive webinar.
