Event Summary:
AUVSI is the world's largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems community. With members from government organizations, industry and academia, the Association is committed to fostering developing and promoting unmanned systems and related technologies.

Through its annual convention, AUVSI's Unmanned Systems North America, the Association brings together the world's most extensive display of robotic and unmanned systems technology including air, ground, maritime, space and components. It is the largest exhibition and convention of its kind with over 5,000 attendees and more than 350 exhibitors from over 50 countries. Attendees include senior level executives and representatives from government, military, industry, and academia. The 2011 convention will include 4 days of exhibits spread throughout 345,000 gross square feet at the Washington Convention Center. In addition to the exhibition, the event will feature a full day of live air and ground vehicle demonstrations at Patuxent River Naval Station, live demonstrations within the exhibit hall, over 100 technical sessions and poster presentations, keynote addresses from leading industry experts and high-ranking government and military officials and a number of networking functions. There is no other event in the world that brings together every aspect of unmanned systems technology, from full-sized vehicles to component technologies making the most comprehensive event for anyone with a stake in the unmanned systems market. Acceptance into the International Buyers Program would help bring more of these decision makers to the show which in turn will boost U.S. unmanned systems market growth.

Export Potential of Show:

Domestically, spending on unmanned systems is forecasted to reach over $4billion in 2010 (includes defense, commercial and academic spending), a more than 25 percent increase over 2008 projections. The U.S. has been the leader in research, development and advancement of unmanned systems technology; as the technology has proliferated so has the international interest and demand for the components, expertise, training and vehicles. This growing interest is reflected in the increasing number of international attendees and exhibitors at AUVSI's annual convention. The proportion of exhibitors at AUVSI's exhibition also demonstrates U.S. dominance in the unmanned systems market with nearly 85% of exhibitors headquartered in the U.S., this exhibition can be seen as representative of the industry's global landscape.
