U.S. defense and security industry companies should plan to participate in Aero India 2011 which will be held February 9-13, 2011, at Yelahanka Air Force Base, Bangalore, India. As the largest defense aviation trade show in India, Aero India 2011 will provide an excellent opportunity for U.S. companies interested in tapping India's large and growing market for air defense equipment. India is planning major procurements of military aviation hardware and is upgrading its surveillance, defense and strike capabilities, in keeping with its expanding, strategic role as a regional power. India's defense expenditures will expand to keep pace with this growth. New product requirements and the replacement needs of the military aviation sector are expected to cost about $15-20 billion over the next 3-5 years.

Exhibit product categories include, but are not limited to: military aircraft, aircraft ground support equipment, MRO, composite materials, defense systems, electronic warfare/countermeasures, helicopter parts & services, machining/metal forming, navigation & communication systems, radars & radomes, reconnaissance/surveillance systems, specialty metals, and UAVs.

The U.S. Commercial Service – India is planning to offer match-making services and export counseling to U.S. small-to-medium-sized companies to assist them in meeting their export goals at Aero India 2011. Also planned is a U.S. Ambassador's Reception for U.S. exhibitors.
