| Event Summary: | ||||
This annual, definitive counter-terrorism event is dedicated to the Indian government's urgent need to procure the most advanced technological solutions to meet their homeland/national security requirements. It focuses on maritime, border, airport, transport, critical infrastructure security and disaster management needs. It has had official support the last 2 years from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the only event in India with such support. India is projected to become one of the largest players in the global homeland security market by 2020. About 6 percent of global procurement in the field of homeland security is expected to emanate from India, which offers large potential for firms wanting to take advantage of opportunities in India on account of: • high GDP growth, • high spending on modernizing military capabilities and industrial infrastructure, • challenging relationships with neighbors that are unlikely to be resolved very quickly and • aging and obsolete equipment Significant market opportunity exists in several sectors of the larger homeland security sector, such as police reforms, critical infrastructure protection and counter-terrorism activities. |
