|IWA & OutdoorClassics 2013 -- Sporting Goods/Recreational Eq.|
SERVICES: The U.S. Commercial Service (CS) in Germany offers a wide range of support services to U.S. exporters who wish to expand their international business. At IWA & OutdoorClassics 2013, the international trade fair for hunting and sport shooting equipment, knives, outdoor articles and accessories, Commercial Specialist Moritz Holst will join forces with his counterparts in up to 15 European countries to offer an International Promotion Program (IPP) and promote the U.S. presence at IWA 2013 to thousands of European buyers. Some of Holst's colleagues will travel to IWA 2013 to provide one-on-one counseling sessions to U.S. exhibitors and connect them to potential buyers and partners from their countries. CS staff will be available throughout the show, working out of our Business Information Office (BIO) in the USA Pavilion, to meet with U.S. exhibitors and visitors, provide market input, ad-hoc interpreting and logistics assistance, and to help U.S. companies with finding European representatives. Please contact Moritz Holst at +49-89-28 88-754 or mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions. He can give further information about our services as they emerge throughout the year.
BACKGROUND: The IWA & OutdoorClassics is the largest trade show for hunting and sport shooting outside of the United States. Each year, some 150-165 American companies participate as direct IWA exhibitors, 40-60 of them in the USA Pavilion. The 2013 edition of the show will be held under the theme of “high performance in target sports, nature activities, protecting people.” The organizer, NurnbergMesse, is expecting some 1,200 exhibitors from 55 countries, with an international share of 70 percent, and up to 37,000 trade visitors from 100 countries, with an international share of 60 percent. For the first time, the net floor space will exceed 450,000 square feet, emphasizing IWA's reputation as the leading international trade show for hunting and sport shooting! If your goal is to enter foreign markets and expand abroad, IWA 2013 is the go to event. In the United States, NurnbergMesse is represented by Kathy Donnelly's Concord Expo Group. If you are interested in participating, please contact Ms. Donnelly at (801) 745-8804 or mailto:email@example.com. More information on the show is available at http://www.iwa.info or http://www.concordexpogroup.com.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR): The U.S. Commercial Service in Germany is proactively engaged in defending American companies against counterfeit and copyright infringement. IPR is an important part of corporate value and international competitiveness. U.S. trademark, design and patent rights do not of themselves provide protection in Germany or the rest of the European Union (EU); U.S. companies must protect their IPR here in Europe. It is possible to register in countries individually or, for EU-wide trademark and design protection, there are a Community Trademark (CTM) and Registered Community Design (RCD). These provide protection for your industrial design or trademark in the entire 27-nation EU mega market of more than 470 million people. Both national trademarks and the CTM can be applied for from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as part of an international trademark registration system. The U.S. Commercial Service can provide information on EU-wide protection for IPR and defend IPR in Europe at trade fairs.
