Japan Home & Building Show 2012 Detailed Event Information For Japan Home & Building Show 2012
Japan Home & Building Show 2012 -- Building Products
Location/Date: Ariake -Tokyo, Japan 11/14/2012 - 11/16/2012
Event Summary:
The Japan Management Association will organize a U.S. pavilion at the Japan Home & Building Show on September 14-16, 2012 at Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan. This event is the largest industry trade show in the Japanese residential building product industry, attracting over 90,000 visitors every year.

The Japanese housing market has long been regarded as one of the largest markets among developed countries; the most recent new housing starts showed 813,126 newly built homes in 2011, 3.1% increase from 2010. In addition, the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami destroyed tens of thousands of homes and buildings in Northern Japan. The rebuilding effort will lead to high demand for building products including insulation products, toilets, wood products, and exterior wall materials.

In March 2011 the Government of Japan implemented its House Eco Point System to give an incentive to homeowners to buy eco-friendly homes or conduct eco-renovation. This program has been extended to the end of December 2012, and includes solar energy systems, water-saving toilets, and high insulated bathrooms. Wall and ceiling insulation products are already in high demand, and the Government of Japan is also set to implement a new efficiency rating system for window insulation performance in April 2011. All these developments will give U.S. manufactures of green building products a good chance to enter into the Japanese residential market.

To highlight U.S. exhibitors at the show, there will be a "USA Pavilion.” By exhibiting in the USA Pavilion, U.S. exhibitors will enjoy: 1) discounted participation fee; 2) direct mailing promotion to more than 2,500 Japanese homebuilders, importers and distributors, architects and developers and other housing professionals; 3) premium booth location; 4) USA Pavilion lounge with free internet connection and a free drink and snack service; and 5) support from CS Japan before, during and after the show.

The U.S. Commercial Service, Japan believes that the Japan Home & Building Show 2012 will provide an excellent opportunity for U.S. building products companies to enter into the Japanese market or expand their sales in Japan.
