Zoomark (in Bologna, Italy) and Interzoo (Nuremberg, Germany), alternating every other year, are the largest and most important European trade fairs for the pet products industry. The last Zoomark, in 2011, featured 600+ exhibitors from 37 countries and 20,000 qualified buyers, agents and distributors from 70 countries. The Italian pet supplies market is still experiencing growth as 41% of the Italian households (i.e. 10 million) own at least one pet. In 2010 the sector of pet food and care products confirms the positive trend increasing by 2.2%, despite current economic conditions. Zoomark International is a tremendous opportunity for U.S. suppliers of pet products to expand their exports. The U.S. Commercial Service is providing full support at this show for the U.S. pavilion.
