In July 2011, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff announced the creation of a new scholarship program, Ciências sem Fronteiras, a multiyear initiative to send 75,000 fully-funded Brazilian students abroad for training in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields, with an additional 26,000 scholarships to be funded by the private sector. A core component of the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program, formerly known as Brazil Science Without Borders, includes the opportunity for students to undertake academic training (internships). Academic training takes place during the summer months between semesters or at the conclusion of the two academic terms. This is a unique opportunity for U.S. companies doing business in Brazil or interested in breaking into the Brazilian market to gain visibility and demonstrate their commitment to Brazil. This webinar will provide an overview of the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program and discuss opportunities for U.S. companies to participate in this innovative initiative. |
