On March 22nd CS-Jakarta Organized Business Outreach Event in Surabaya. U.S. Ambassador Robert O. Blake, Senior Commercial Officer Rosemary Gallant, Consul General Heather Variava, along with 22 American companies (31 participants), launched the largest-ever U.S. trade delegation to East Java. East Java Governor Soekarwo, the National Investment Promotion Board (BKPM), more than 11 Regents from the surrounding provinces and representatives from the Ministry of Industry welcomed the highly anticipated delegates, whose interest lies in expanding capacity and capitalizing on the many infrastructure development projects that are currently defining East Java’s business activities in Indonesia’s second largest city and third largest economic region. Participating delegates applauded the significant number of contacts made and project discussions that were enabled through the trade delegation's official meetings, the evening networking reception at the Consul General’s residence and the business networking luncheon held the following day.
