SOFEX, the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference, was first launched in Amman, Jordan, in 1996 to serve the military's needs for special operations and to address the specific needs for military organizations around the world. SOFEX has evolved over the years to expand the theme to cover homeland security and other security issues that have become a growing concern for all nations. SOFEX is held at the King Abdullah Airbase in Amman, Jordan, which provides an excellent venue to demonstrate the capabilities for land and air assault presentations by the many nations that exhibit. SOFEX has grown in size and importance to become the world's premier special operations exhibition and conference.
