Plastimagen is the most important show for the plastics industry in Mexico and Central America. Plastimagen is recognized internationally as the most comprehensive plastics machinery, equipment and materials trade show in Mexico. At Plastimagen 2013, over 800 exhibitors will showcase machinery & related equipment, custom plastic processors, tools and molds, recycling equipment, chemical raw materials, components, finished products, synthetic resins, instrumentation and process control as well as other services. Mexico is the 12th largest worldwide consumer of plastics and the second in Latin America with a yearly consumption of six million tones. Mexico City and the metropolitan area represent the major production area in Mexico nationwide. There are many business opportunities for U.S. companies with a decent market of 100 million Mexican consumers.
Plastimagen 2013 attendees represent a wide range of industries such as: packaging / bottles; plastic processor; housewares / appliances; chemicals / plastics; automobile / transportation; cosmetic / pharmaceutical; recycling; construction pipes / tubes; electronics / electrical; fittings / tooling; jewelry / toys; equipment; medical; furniture; and other related goods and services. In 2011 the show attracted 30,000 visitors and 800 exhibitors from 21 countries.
CS Mexico is planning to work jointly with the organizer to recruit a US Pavilion. A series of webinars on the plastic industry and Plastimagen US Pavilion will be conducted and organized by CS Mexico City to recruit US exhibitors. Booth pricing is still unknown.
