The International Exhibition of the Latin American Mining Industry, EXPONOR, is a trade fair that is held every two years in the Region of Antofagasta, the heart of the copper mining industry in Chile and where 54% of the country's copper is produced.
EXPONOR is organized by the Industrial Association of Antofagasta (AIA), a trade organization with over 60 years of experience in bringing together the region's major copper producers and their suppliers. EXPONOR has become the most important meeting point for the Large-Scale Mining industry in South America, which has a portfolio of projects for US$ 41,291 Million (63.48% of the world's total) for the period 2007-2015.
The next exhibition, the XV International Exhibition of the Latin American Mining Industry (EXPONOR 2013) will take place in June 2013 on a new 112,000 m2 site in the outskirts of Antofagasta. 700 exhibitors from 20 different countries and 30,000 visitors are expected to attend.
EXPONOR is a comprehensive trade fair, which since its establishment has promoted the formation of productive linkages, new business and the exchange of know-how and experiences between local, national, and international business people. For this purpose EXPONOR has a complete set of Business Activities focused on strengthening these activities between the various actors in the mining industry and providing ideal opportunities for the proper development of the industry.
