MARKET OPPORTUNITIES Japanese auto manufacturers are proceeding with the research and development of the Next Generation Vehicles (NGV) such as Electric Vehicle (EV), Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (pHV), Hybrid Vehicle (HV), Hydrogen Vehicle, Fuel Cell (FC) Vehicle, Clean Diesel Vehicle, and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicle. HV and EV are especially gaining increasing attention. The more widespread use of NGV will largely depend on auto manufacturers' resolution of a number of technological issues (for FC and Hydrogen Vehicle, for example) and on the expansion of the fuel/energy supply infrastructure.
