Ports and Maritime Technology Trade Mission to India, February 2012

The U.S. Foreign Commercial Service Executive-led Ports and Maritime Trade Mission to India February 20-24, 2011 will help U.S. companies participate in the rapidly expanding opportunities for ports and maritime related sales. Most equipment at India’s more than 200 ports is obsolete. The Indian Government has approved investments of $66 billion in the port sector and $27 billion in the shipping sector to update equipment and increase India’s port capacity from 1 billion tons to 3.2 billion tons by 2020.
