U.S. Trade and Development Agency - Feasibility Study Grant Opportunity - Chile: San Antonio - Santiago Intermodal Corridor
Posted: June 17, 2013; Proposal Deadline August 2, 2013
Details and Contact: https://www.fbo.gov/spg/TDA/TDA1/TDA1/2013-51017A/listing.html
The Chilean government, through the Grantee, intends to improve access to global markets by facilitating the movement of cargo in a cost effective manner to stay competitive and allow for continued economic expansion. In order to create an improved method of commercial distribution, the Grantee -- along with the various other public and private sector companies utilizing the port facilities -- has identified the need to improve the transportation connections between the Port of San Antonio and the Santiago metropolitan area.
The feasibility study will identify incremental measures and steps that will lead to the development of the Project. The feasibility study will include the development of an infrastructure and implementation plan for the Project so that the Grantee, in coordination with EFE, COLSA, and private operators, can periodically review the strategic directions of the plan, identify appropriate intermodal sub-projects for investment, set priorities, develop high level implementation and acquisition plans, and develop yearly operational sub-projects. The U.S. firm selected will be paid in U.S. dollars from a $620,000 grant to the Grantee from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency ("USTDA").
