Location/Date: Nairobi, Kenya 12/01/2013 - 12/05/2013
Event Summary:
The United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (CS), is organizing a Geothermal Energy Trade Mission to Kenya in close cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development, (USAID) and the Geothermal Energy Association (GEA). This Mission will directly support President Obama's “Doing Business in Africa” campaign, which promotes economic growth, trade and investment in Africa. The Trade Mission will expose U.S. companies, related to the geothermal industry, to promising market potentials in the growing geothermal markets in Kenya and Ethiopia. Led by a senior Commerce Department official, during the first week of December 2013, the mission will include representatives from a cross-section of U.S. firms operating in the geothermal industry. Participating in an official U.S. industry delegation, rather than traveling to Kenya and Ethiopia independently, will enhance the companies' ability to secure meetings with potential customers, partners, and relevant government officials. The delegation will visit Nairobi. At each mission stop, the program will include briefings, networking receptions, and one-on-one business meetings with potential customers, partners and local representatives.
