The U.S. Pavilion at Solarexpo and Greenbuilding 2012

Verona, Italy – May 9-11, 2012

The U.S. Commercial Service in Italy is organizing a combined U.S. Pavilion at the Solarexpo and Greenbuilding trade fair, which will be held May 9-11, 2012 in beautiful Verona, Italy. Solarexpo, the International Exhibition and Conference on Solar and Renewable Energies, is the #1 solar PV show in the world according to Photon International Magazine, and one of the most important in the renewable energy sector. Taking place alongside Solarexpo is Greenbuilding, the International Exhibition and Conference on Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Architecture.

Together, Solarexpo and Greenbuilding are a leading European event for renewables and sustainable architecture. More than 1,400 exhibitors are expected in addition to over 75,000 visitors from Italy and abroad.

Five good reasons to enter Italy’s solar and green building market!

  • With 12 GW of solar power in place and 330,000 installations, Italy is one of the world’s most important markets for solar energy and is anticipated to become the first country to reach grid parity in 2013.
  • Italy's sunny climate, sky-high energy rates and a still generous government-backed feed-in-tariff program are driving the solar boom.
  • Immediate opportunities exist for U.S. innovative products. In particular, advanced BIPV solutions are in the highest demand.
  • US exporters of green building products can find a receptive environment in Italy thanks to recent Italian legislation that sets energy efficiency requirements in construction and provides incentives towards the use of energy efficient and renewable sources.
  • Best prospects include: home/building automation, smart grid technologies, LED lighting, heat pumps, LEED consulting services, ESCO services
