* A Small or Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) is defined as a firm with 500 or fewer employees or self-certified as a small business under SBA regulations. A large company is defined as a firm with more than 500 employees. Subsidiaries will be classified based on the size of the parent company.
The preferred method for showing your products and company information to Kenyan firms is your web site or electronic catalog/brochure. If a web site or electronic catalog is not available, we will require 20 sets of product literature. You should send your product literature (no products, no samples) by first-class U.S. mail, from the nearest Post Office, to our Diplomatic Mail Center address. Please plan ahead, as it will take approximately four weeks for us to receive your brochures through this mail service.

We strongly recommend against mailing product literature through courier or airfreight services. Should you feel more comfortable sending the materials by express courier, please mark clearly to "Bill Sender" any additional expenses on the airway bill. You should also make it clear that the shipment has "no commercial value" and that its contents are "not for sale". Courier services operating in Kenya are subject to severe Customs restrictions. They are not permitted to retrieve shipments that exceed a certain volume and a certain weight. If a shipment is held at Customs for any reason, CS Kenya will not retrieve it. This would entail obtaining Customs clearance, paying storage fees, and other charges. CS Kenya has neither the staff nor the financial resources to undertake this time- and money-consuming task.
