Andrea Berton, International Trade Specialist

Andrea Berton focuses on the counties of Wright, Carver, and Scott along with western and south-western Minnesota and is the point of contact for agribusiness, education, and Europe teams.  Prior to joining Commercial Service (CS) in Minnesota, Andrea served as an International Trade Compliance Analyst within Import Administration’s (IA) China/Non-Market Economy unit in Washington, D.C. where she conducted antidumping proceedings.  While with IA, Andrea also worked with U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection to implement the findings of these antidumping proceedings.  Prior to her work with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Andrea worked in the private sector as a case manager and paralegal with the international trade groups for two prominent Washington, D.C. law firms.  In these positions, she teamed with the international trade lawyers and consultants to assist numerous clients with antidumping and countervailing proceedings, on litigation regarding alleged intellectual property rights infringement by imported goods, the tracking and reporting of international trade trends and statistics for specific products, and to resolve export compliance issues.  While in D.C., Andrea served as an officer on the board of directors for the Commerce Department Child Development Center.  She now lives in the Minneapolis area with her husband and their three daughters.
