Cleveland State University's nationally recognized export assistance program, Global Target, is now accepting applications for the upcoming 2013 class.  Course begins May 3, 2013.  Take part in this unique mentoring program, which has accelerated export programs for companies throughout Northeast Ohio since 2005.  The program price includes a Gold Key Service (pre-screened meetings in country with 4-5 potential foreign buyers that are interested in meeting with you) provided by the U.S. Commercial Service, and paid for by FedEx.

Global Target Program at University of Toledo
The University of Toledo’s Global Target Program for small and medium-size businesses that need guidance in “going global,” is a nine-month program for US manufacturers or service providers that want to increase their exports and make exporting a part of their business. The program includes faculty-led market research, mentoring by companies experienced in exporting, distinguished international business speakers, as well as counseling by the U.S. Commercial Service, ending with a Gold Key Service (pre-screened meetings in country with 4-5 potential foreign buyers that are interested in meeting with you) provided by the U.S. Commercial Service, and paid for by UPS.

Complying with US Export Controls Two Day Seminar presented by the US Commercial Service and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)

April 9 & 10, 2013, Embassy Suites, Independence, OH,

The two-day program is let by BIS's professional counseling staff and provides an in-depth examination of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  The program will cover the information exporters need to know to comply with U.S. export control requirements on commercial goods.  This program is well suited for those who need a comprehensive understanding of their obligations under the EAR.  Technical, policy, and enforcement professionals from BIS, as well was specialists from other agencies such as the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the Bureau of Census will participate in certain programs.

How to Develop an Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP) Seminar presented by US Commercial Service and Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)

International Trade Items

Applications for the Ohio International Market Access Grant for Exporters (IMAGE) are now being accepted. IMAGE is a program funded by the State of Ohio and the U.S. Small Business Administration as part of the National Export Initiative to double U.S. exports by 2015. The program is designed to increase exports and create jobs by helping small companies to promote their products and services in new international markets. Qualifying Ohio businesses can apply for financial assistance to help cover the costs of export-related activities such as: international trade show participation, subscription to services provided by the U.S. Commercial Service, marketing and translation services and international trade mission participation. 4th Annual US-Nigeria Trade Mission to Promote Commerce & Technology, Agriculture, and Oil & Gas Industries

Recruitment has begun for this May 2013 trade mission.  The Nigerian/USA Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC) and the US Commercial Service have combined forces to put together a trade mission to one of the "hottest markets" in the world.  Nigeria is a Priority Market in the National Export Initiative and the mission will include our highly successful Gold Key Service.  The platform will allow US businesses to present, demonstrate, and showcase their products and service offerings to over 400 Nigerian businesses.  More details to follow.
