International Company Profile (ICP)

The International Company Profile (ICP) is the Department of Commerce's background check on the reliability of potential trading partners. Along with a recommendation from on-site Commerce personnel, an ICP report includes the following information on a prospective client: principal owners, year established, size, sales, financial information, trade references, general reputation, type of organization and territory covered and a personal visit by an officer in order to give a professional opinion on the company.

A U.S. exporter can obtain this information, as well as detailed answers to specific questions about the prospective partner, in a confidential report. In addition, commercial officers at the U.S. Embassy will provide a recommendation on the suitability of the profiled company as a business partner.

* A Small or Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) is defined as a firm with 500 or fewer employees or self-certified as a small business under SBA regulations. A large company is defined as a firm with more than 500 employees. Subsidiaries will be classified based on the size of the parent company.

** For background checks on companies outside of Lima, an additional fee for transportation and time will be assessed if you require an onsite visit.

 Delivery Time: 15 business days. In periods of high demand, an extension of the delivery time frame may be required.

Additional Notes:

  • Expedited service 100% additional to the regular price. (Minimum three weeks' notice)
  • The client will be charged a rescheduling fee of $200 in the event in which he cancels his visit or requests a date change within two weeks of the scheduled date.
  • In some cases, despite a thorough and exhaustive search by our experienced industry experts, a Gold Key Service turns up no interested parties. This is valuable and instructive feedback for the U.S. exporter, and is not grounds for re-conducting the service or issuing a refund.
