U.S. Water Trade Mission to Romania and Moldova
A delegation of U.S. businesses with expertise in the water and wastewater industry participated in the U.S. Water Trade Mission to Romania and Moldova. The trade mission, organized by the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in cooperation with Patronatul Apei, the Romanian Water Association and Apa Canal Moldova visited Bucharest and Chisinau to introduce its capabilities to the local water industries.
The program opened at 4:00 pm on Monday, April 11 with a format that included a series of technical presentations from both the Romanian water companies and U.S. delegates in order to facilitate exchange of knowhow and best practices. An industry networking reception took place that evening. On he afternoon of April 12, the delegation travelled to Chisinau, Moldova where the program continued with technical discussions, site visits and one-on-one meetings. The local press extensively covered the event’s activities.
The event attracted a wide audience in both countries. The Romanian and Moldovan water utilities were very pleased with the discussions and they all indicated interest in future partnerships with the U.S. companies.
