Brownfield Redevelopment

The U.S. Commercial Service of the United States Embassy hosted a seminar on the topic of “Brownfield Redevelopment”. There are estimated 900,000 hectares of brownfields in Romania.

The seminar was organized in partnership with several U.S. companies who wanted to open a dialogue with the Romanian key players including Government officials on the topic of Brownfield Development.

Participants were leading law firm Clifford Chance, Jones Lang LaSalle, PwC, environmental consultants F&R Worldwide, and architectural and design firm Epstein. 

The participating U.S. companies presented their perspectives and expertise in this area. The event was opened by the Ministry of Environment and Forests representative, Mr. Ionut Georgescu, Head of Department of Waste Management and Hazardous Substances.

Property developers, real estate companies, local officials, banks, and utilities were among the invited audience. The event was well received recording positive feedback as well as extensive media coverage.

The event took place Thursday, April 5th from 9:00 – 14:00 at the Radisson Blu hotel, Sala Electra, Bucharest.
