2nd Edition of the U.S. Water Trade Mission to Romania and Moldova
Following the success of a similar event in 2011, the U.S. Commercial Service within the United States Embassy in Romania organized another business delegation of American water and wastewater treatment technologies to Bucharest, Romania and Chisinau, Moldova.
The trade mission took place on March 19-21, 2012. The three-day event started on March 19 with a seminar held at the Radisson Blu hotel that provided excellent opportunity for Romanian and American experts to discuss common water and wastewater infrastructure problems and their solutions. The seminar ended with an industry networking reception.
After the reception, the U.S. delegation travelled to Chisinau, Moldova where the program continued with a technical seminar, site visits, and matchmaking between American and Moldovan companies. The opening ceremony in Chisinau was attended by high-level Moldovan Government officials, including the Mayor of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca and the Minister of Environment, Gheorghe Selaru.
The event attracted a wide audience in both countries from the public and private sectors, many of whom initiated discussions for potential partnerships with the U.S. companies to respond to specific challenges in the field of water treatment.
The U.S. companies participating include the following:
The trade mission was organized with the support of Patronatul Apei, Asociatia Romana a Apei and Apa Canal Chisinau.
