Ramell International offers certified translations from Swedish into English by Authorized Public Translator Gunilla Ramell.
Gunilla is among Sweden’s most proficient translators of legal, business, government and scientific/educational documents. She has the advantage of being a native speaker of both Swedish and English. Born in Sweden, she emigrated to the U.S. to pursue her college education, graduating from UCLA with a BA Summa cum Laude. Her graduate studies were conducted at Harvard University from which she graduated with a Master’s in Government. Her successful career in corporate America spanned Fortune 500 blue chip companies in the energy, utility and forest products industries, including ARCO, Pacific Gas & Electric and International Paper, all the way to professional service firms in law and accounting, as well as NGOs like the World Affairs Council of Northern California where she served as Director of Corporate Programs. According to her CEO, “Gunilla’s proficiency in English was frequently superior to that of her native-born colleagues.”
After more than 30 years in the U.S., Gunilla recently returned to her native Sweden to start her own translation firm with clients such as Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg where she edits doctoral dissertations and Master’s theses for publication in North American scientific journals. Her clients include law and consulting firms, corporations of all sizes, in addition to private individuals for whom she translates a range of legal documents for such purposes as adoption, emigration, studying abroad, as well as applications for trainee positions and senior level corporate transfers.
