Planning is currently underway for the construction of a new airport in Istanbul. The proposed airport is projected to be one of the world’s largest, with a potential full capacity of approximately 150 million passengers. Its development will have four phases, spanning several years, costing more than $9 billion. Projects will include a major landfill, up to six runways, aircraft parking areas, terminal buildings, passenger concessions, and ancillary ground support.
The airport presents major U.S. equipment and service export opportunities, including:

• Terminal radar and ground control radar;
• Safety and security systems, fire detection systems, an access control;
• Energy efficient technologies, including lightning, HVAC, and backup power generation;
